Before you join
Questions and answers

The things salon owners, barbers and chair renters ask before they join, answered plainly - and only with what Lushera actually does today.
What is Lushera and who is it for?
Lushera is salon-management software built for UK hair salons, barbers, beauty and nail studios, tanning studios and the chair renters working alongside them. It puts your diary, clients, colour records, money, staff, stock, reminders and marketing together in one place.
It runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install - it works on a desk computer, a laptop or a tablet. The feature reference lists everything it does.
Is Lushera only for hairdressers?
No. A service in Lushera is whatever you sell - a full head colour, a course of sunbed sessions or a deep-tissue massage. The diary, walk-in log, reminders and money screens work exactly the same for tanning studios, beauty rooms and treatment rooms as they do for hairdressers.
Prepaid bundles fit too: sell a pack of sessions or a block of sunbed minutes at the desk and Lushera counts them down as clients visit. There are no extra modules to buy - you just name your services.
What is the difference between Lushera and Lushera Solo?
They are two editions of the same product. Lushera is the full salon suite for owners running a team: a multi-stylist diary with one column per working stylist, a shared client database, staff, rota and wage runs across five pay models, retail and backbar stock, full money and UK tax-year reporting, and a salon booking page.
Lushera Solo is the chair-renter edition for freelance stylists: your own diary and client book, colour formulas and patch-test tracking, your income and expenses with chair rent tracked automatically as a recurring expense, the same tax-year summary and CSV export, and your own personal booking page. You choose your working style at first login and Lushera switches the right modules on; owners can change individual modules later in Settings. See the side-by-side comparison.
How much does Lushera cost?
One flat monthly fee, and every feature is included on every plan - the only thing that changes is how many people are on your team. Solo is £14.99 a month for chair renters and one-person businesses, Studio is £29.99 a month for up to 3 team members, Salon is £49.99 a month for up to 8, and Unlimited is £79.99 a month for unlimited team members. Pay for the year instead and you get two months free: £149.99, £299, £499 or £799.
There is no commission when a new client books you, no per-text charge and no cut of your card payments. Prices are in pounds sterling. Full details are on the pricing section.
How do I get Lushera? Can I sign up today?
Not quite yet - sign-ups open soon. Lushera is currently waitlist-based: use the Join the waitlist button at the top of this page, leave your name and email, and we will let you know the moment you can start. No card is needed to hold your place, and we use your details only to respond to you and to let you know when Lushera opens up.
If you would like to see Lushera on your own kind of salon first, email support@lushera.co.uk to book a demo.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Cancel whenever you like and keep working to the end of the period you have paid for. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and cancelling simply stops future renewals.
Your data is always yours. If a subscription lapses, your account becomes read-only: you can still sign in, see everything and export your salon, client and money data as CSV. Nothing is deleted - we keep the read-only account for at least 12 months at no charge - and renewing restores full access straight away.
Can clients book online?
Yes. Every plan includes your own public booking page under your salon's name, with your logo, accent colour and find-us details. Availability comes straight from your rota and existing bookings, so you are never double-booked, and you choose instant-book or request-to-book. Clients get an email and text confirmation, a reminder the day before, and a link to reschedule or cancel within the window you set.
Share the link anywhere, paste the copy-and-paste embed snippet into any website builder, or download a QR code to print - all self-serve from Settings, no developer needed. New online clients land in your database automatically, and the opt-in tick for offers and news is never pre-ticked. Card deposits via Stripe are coming soon and are not live yet.
Does Lushera send appointment reminders, and what do texts cost?
Yes. Reminders go out on their own the day before every appointment, by email, text or both, with optional booking confirmations the moment a slot is taken. STOP and opt-out replies are honoured and stamped. Texts can use Lushera text credits - 6p a text, in packs of 100 for £6, 500 for £30 or 1,000 for £60, sent under your salon's name with nothing to set up - or bring your own gateway: connect your own text provider (Twilio to start) and texts bill to you at roughly 3 to 4p each, with no platform mark-up.
On any phone, every booking and client record carries a one-tap WhatsApp button that opens the reminder pre-written. Email and text marketing campaigns to opted-in clients, with one-click unsubscribe, are included too - see reminders and marketing.
Can I import my clients from my old system?
Yes. Export your clients from your old system or spreadsheet as a CSV, then use Import CSV in Clients. Common column names such as name, phone, email, notes and birthday are recognised automatically, up to 5,000 rows per file, and you get a plain summary of what came in and what was skipped.
Anyone already in your client book, matched by phone or email, is skipped rather than merged, so a duplicate can never damage an existing record. Marketing consent is never imported: imported clients start opted out and opt in themselves at the desk or through your booking page.
Does Lushera do my tax return or payroll?
No. The money and tax-year features are reporting tools: income is captured automatically from bookings, retail and chair rent, expenses are categorised, and you get a month-by-month profit and loss, a UK tax-year summary (6 April to 5 April), optional VAT figures and a CSV export for your accountant.
It is not payroll and it does not file anything with HMRC (no RTI or MTD submission). Wage runs across hourly, salary, commission, chair-rent and mixed pay show the calculation on every line, but what you file stays with you and your accountant.
What happens if the internet goes down in the salon?
Lushera keeps a private copy of the next seven days on the device, so if the connection drops you can still see the day ahead - who is booked, when, with which stylist, and their phone number to call. It survives closing the app or restarting the computer, and comes straight back to normal the moment the connection returns.
Offline mode is read-only: new bookings and changes wait until you are back online, so two devices can never quietly clash. An optional morning email of the day's bookings gives you a printed backup as well.
Where is my data stored and how is it protected?
Data is hosted within the UK/EU. Every connection is encrypted in transit, two-factor authentication is available on sign-in, every record is scoped to one salon so no salon can see another's data, and role-based access means staff only see what their role allows. Lushera has passed an independent security review. For the front-desk computer, a shared-terminal mode keeps the everyday screens open while Money, Insights, wages, staff and settings sit behind an admin PIN that relocks itself.
You own the data you enter. For your clients' information the salon is the data controller and Azury Digital is the data processor, under a Data Processing Agreement that is available to salons. Each client record has GDPR export and delete tools, this website sets no tracking or analytics cookies, and the full detail is in our privacy policy.
How do I get set up once my account is open?
Create your account with your name, email and a password, then sign in - the first person to sign in is the owner. Lushera asks a one-time question about how you work: choose salon owner for the full suite or chair renter for Lushera Solo. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication in Settings straight away.
Then fill in your business profile (name, address, phone, opening hours and logo), add your services, and - in the salon edition - your staff and rota, which drive the diary columns and your booking page. The step-by-step Lushera user guide and Lushera Solo user guide walk through every module.
How do I get help?
Email support@lushera.co.uk. Both user guides end with a troubleshooting section, and our guides cover chair renting and cutting no-shows. For privacy questions, or to be removed from the waitlist, email info@azurydigital.co.uk.
